One of Singapore’s most popular and fastest-rising band in S.E Asia ,The Sam Willows, is set to perform live in Kuala Lumpur for an exclusive show at The Bee in Publika on March 5. Organized by The Livescape Group, the one-night-only show is set to attract over 1,000 people that will have fans of all ages singing and dancing along to the pop band’s catchy tunes.
The Sam Willows was formed in 2012 and is made up of siblings, Narelle and Benjamin Kheng, together with their friends Sandra Riley Tang and Jonathan Chua. Their self-titled EP, released in the same year the quartet was formed, shot the band to spectacular fame as it was one of the top 30 most downloaded albums of 2013 and 2014 on iTunes. In 2015, they released their debut album titled ‘Take Heart’ and the most popular singles from the album include Take Heart and For Love.
The band was nominated for the wildcard round as MTV Asia’s Best Southeast Asian Act in 2014 and also Best Southeast Asian Act for the MTV EMA’s in 2015. In 2015, the band emerged as the first South East Asian act to break into Spotify Global Viral 50 chart and was named “Best Artist” in Singapore by Apple Music. The Sam Willows are currently the most popular music band channel on Youtube in Singapore with more than 80,000 subscribers. The multi-talented band does not have a dedicated lead singer as each member sings and plays an instrument at every performance.
